Deep Cervical Flexion Exercise With Pressure Biofeedback Is More Effective Than Muscle Energy Technique in Mechanical Neck Pain Among Digital Creative Agency Employees

Abstrak

Mechanical neck pain menjadi gangguan musculoskeletal yang umum terjadi pada karyawan dengan aktivitas statis dan postur kerja tidak ergonomis dalam menggunakan perangkat digital yang dapat menimbulkan nyeri dan disabilitas sehingga menurunkan produktivitas kerja. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuktikan bahwa deep cervical flexion exercise with pressure biofeedback lebih efektif dibandingkan muscle energy technique terhadap penurunan nyeri dan disabilitas leher pada kondisi mechanical neck pain karyawan digital creative. Penelitian ini merupakan true eksperimen dengan pre test and post test two group design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 24 orang yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok secara acak. Sebanyak 12 orang dalam kelompok 1 diberikan intervensi deep cervical flexion exercise with pressure biofeedback dan sebanyak 12 orang dalam kelompok 2 diberikan intervensi muscle energy technique. Pengukuran dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Pengukuran intensitas nyeri menggunakan numeric pain rating scale dan pengukuran disabilitas leher menggunakan neck disability index. Hasil paired sample t test kelompok 1 menunjukkan penurunan bermakna dengan rerata nyeri 2,00 ± 1,53 (p = 0,001; p < 0,05) dan disabilitas leher 7,42 ± 2,27 (p = 0,001; p < 0,05). Kelompok 2 menunjukkan penurunan bermakna dengan rerata nyeri 3,50 ± 1,16 (p = 0,001; p < 0,05) dan disabilitas leher 11,75 ± 3,88 (p = 0,001; p < 0,05). Untuk independent sample t test antar kedua kelompok, diperoleh adanya perbedaan yang signifikan untuk intensitas nyeri (p = 0,013; p < 0,05) dan disabilitas leher (p = 0,003; p < 0,05). Sebagai kesimpulan, deep cervical flexion exercise with pressure biofeedback lebih efektif dibandingkan muscle energy technique terhadap penurunan nyeri dan disabilitas leher pada kondisi mechanical neck pain karyawan digital creative.
