Author Guidelines

In light of the increased accreditation rating of the Media Kesehatan Politeknik Kesehatan Makassar Journal to SINTA 2, we would like to inform all prospective authors whose manuscripts will be published in this journal of the following updated requirements, effective for the December 2025 edition and onwards:

  1. Language Requirement: All articles must be written entirely in English (full English). This policy aims to enhance international accessibility, broaden readership, and support global journal indexing.

  2. Manuscript Template:

    • The journal has updated its official template, which is now available exclusively in English.
    • Authors must use the new English-language template, accessible at:
      Template
    • For review articles, the journal does not provide a dedicated official template. However, authors are required to format their manuscripts in accordance with internationally recognized standards for scholarly review articles (e.g., as published in reputable international journals), including clear structure, methodological transparency, and comprehensive synthesis of recent literature.
  3. Manuscript Format Requirements:

    • The manuscript must not exceed 14 pages, typed in Microsoft Word using A4 paper size, single-column format, and single line spacing.
    • The main text must use Times New Roman, 10-point font; the title and abstract should use Times New Roman, 8-point font with single spacing.
    • Margins must be 2.5 cm on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right).
  4. Plagiarism and Originality:

    • All manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin software after peer review.
    • The similarity index must not exceed 25%.
    • Authors are required to submit a signed Authorship and Originality Statement, confirming that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  5. Compliance and Rejection Policy:

    • Manuscripts that fail to use the official English template (for research articles) or do not follow internationally accepted review-article standards (for review articles), or that violate any editorial requirement, will be rejected immediately by the editor without further review.
    • Only one article per author or author group may be published in a single journal issue.
  6. Special Requirements for Review Articles:

    • Review articles must provide a comprehensive, critical, and up-to-date synthesis of existing literature on a topic relevant to public health.
    • They must include a clearly stated objective or research question, a defined search or selection methodology (systematic or narrative), and a structured discussion of trends, research gaps, and implications.
    • A minimum of 40 references is required, with at least 80% being primary sources published within the last five years (2021–2025).

We appreciate your attention and cooperation in adhering to these updated guidelines. Your commitment plays a vital role in maintaining and advancing the scientific quality and international reputation of the Poltekkes Kemenkes Health Media Journal.

Sincerely,
The Editorial Board
