Efektivitas Video Animasi Personal Hygiene Dalam Meningkatkan Tindakan Pencegahan Infeksi Saluran Reproduksi Remaja Awal

Reproductive Tract Infections (RTIs) among adolescents aged 10–14 years are common health problems caused by low levels of knowledge and inadequate personal hygiene practices. In the digital era, easy access to global information often encourages children and adolescents to adopt unhealthy behaviors and significantly influences their daily habits. Exposure to such media can lead to the early onset of sexual activity and the emergence of high-risk behaviors. This situation is further exacerbated by the limited understanding of reproductive health among early adolescents, increasing their vulnerability to RTIs. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of personal hygiene animation videos in improving early adolescents’ preventive behaviors against reproductive tract infections at INPRES BTN IKIP 1 Public Elementary School, Makassar City. Methods: This study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 34 female students from grades IV and V who met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a behavior questionnaire administered before and after the animation video intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance level of α =
0.05. Results: The findings showed a significant improvement in the preventive behaviors of grade IV and V students after receiving education through animation videos, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The study demonstrates that educational interventions using animation videos are effective in enhancing reproductive tract infection prevention behaviors among early adolescents.
