Edukasi Media Leaflet Dalam Peningkatan Pengetahuan Tentang Faktor Risiko Komplikasi Pada Ibu Nifas

The postpartum period begins one hour after placental delivery and continues for six weeks (42 days). This period is a critical phase in which mothers are at risk of various complications that may endanger their health if not managed promptly and appropriately. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 287,000 women died from complications during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period in 2020, mainly due to hemorrhage and infection. Therefore, mothers' knowledge regarding risk factors for postpartum complications is essential to prevent serious complications. Appropriate health education plays an important role in increasing awareness and understanding of risk factors for postpartum complications among postpartum mothers. This study aimed to determine the effect of leaflet-based education on the level of knowledge regarding risk factors for postpartum complications among postpartum mothers. This study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test approach. The population consisted of 80 postpartum mothers, with a sample of 37 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure respondents' level of knowledge. The results showed that 81.1% of respondents had good knowledge after receiving leaflet-based education. The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating that leaflet-based education had a significant effect on increasing knowledge regarding risk factors for postpartum complications among postpartum mothers. Leaflet-based education was effective in improving knowledge regarding risk factors for postpartum complications among postpartum mothers.
