Diastasis Recti Abdominis (DRA) is defined as a separation of the two rectus abdominis muscles by more than 2 cm at the level of the umbilicus. The prevalence of DRA among postpartum women is relatively high; however, there is still limited research regarding its risk factors. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of DRA and analyze factors associated with the occurrence of DRA among postpartum women in the working area of the Tamalate Public Health Center, Makassar City. This study employed a cross-sectional design using a descriptive-analytic approach. A total of 118 postpartum women from the Tamalate Public Health Center area were included in the study. DRA was assessed through palpation and subsequently measured using a digital caliper. The results showed that the prevalence of DRA was 60.2%. There was a significant association between maternal age, gestational age at delivery, and body mass index (BMI) and the occurrence of DRA (p < 0.05). No significant association was found between gravidity, parity, or birth weight and the occurrence of DRA (p > 0.05). Furthermore, there was no significant association between maternal age, BMI, gravidity, parity, birth weight, or gestational age at delivery and inter-recti distance (p > 0.05). The prevalence of DRA was relatively high at 60.2%. Maternal age, gestational age at delivery, and BMI were associated with the occurrence of DRA, whereas gravidity, parity, and birth weight were not. Additionally, maternal age, BMI, gravidity, parity, birth weight, and gestational age at delivery were not associated with inter-recti distance.
